Whats it all about?

Have you ever wondered what else was out there? The clear (see straight to the bottom) oceans, the coliseums in Rome, the coffee shops in Amsterdam, the mountains of New Zealand, the crowded streets of Tokyo Japan, all these places that everyone talks about but still have not been seen with your own eyes! I do. This blog entry was inspired by a conversation my boyfriend and I had the other day. He asked me if there was anywhere I could go for one of my first times out of Texas, because there are only a handful, where would it be? Of course my mind raced at the thought of anywhere, "all of these beautiful, intriguing places and I have to pick ONE!" And then of course he added in the fact that it had to be in the US. But still it got me thinking, "although I am still young, would I let my life slip away without venturing to all of these places I mentioned and more?". How could you possibly think you have lived a good long life when you haven't even made an effort to see how others manage to exist. How these "foreign" people's life styles are so different yet in a way the same. The way they raise their children, the way they cook, clean, shop, and just live their lives day in and day out, much like we all do, much like I do. But its time for a change, I'm tired of day in and day out. I want to see the world, feel the sand between my toes, the mountain snow on my face, the meadow breeze in my hair. Such big talk for such a little person, so for now I will do my day in and day out, but one day..... one day I will venture out and see the world!

  1. the true measure of a life lived is not in the places that you've been or the things that you've seen... but in the happiness that you have found, and the lives you have touched.
